Commercial Security in Texas
Access Control Management
When providing commercial security, one of the most important aspects involves access control management. When this involves an office building, industrial complex, or other facility, it’s crucial to make sure only those authorized to be on the premises are allowed to gain access. In too many instances, a disgruntled ex-employee or other individual has been able to gain access to a facility, resulting in injuries and fatalities time after time. To keep these instances from happening, Ranger Guard and Investigations trains its officers in many aspects of access control management, such as updating and maintaining current tenant and employee lists, how to properly identify authorized personnel, creating and issuing identifications, and other related duties.
Armed and Unarmed Officers
Depending upon the type of facility and the level of service needed by security personnel, Ranger Guard and Investigations can provide either armed or unarmed private security officers for an assignment. In many facilities such as office buildings, unarmed officers work very well, since they deal primarily with access control duties, video surveillance, and patrolling of buildings and grounds. However, in some facilities such as industrial complexes and hospitals, armed guards may be necessary. Since these facilities often contain expensive equipment, pharmaceuticals, or have situations where dangerous individuals may require medical treatment, armed security is often necessary to provide maximum protection.
When providing commercial property security, Ranger officers use a variety of different patrol techniques to ensure maximum protection for employees and others in the area. Relying on extensive training in mobile patrol techniques, Ranger officers use foot and vehicle patrols to act as deterrents to potential crimes and other acts of wrongdoing. However, rather than patrol in the same manner day and night, Ranger officers vary patrol routes and times, making it very difficult for anyone to establish a patrol pattern. By keeping individuals off-balance in this manner, commercial building security can be maintained in a much safer and more efficient manner.
First Aid and Evacuation Procedures
In a commercial security environment, private security officers must be prepared to handle not only potential acts of violence, but also medical and other emergencies. Because of this, Ranger Guard and Investigations trains all officers in basic first aid and CPR, as well as how to handle fire drills and evacuations of handicapped and disabled individuals, multi-floor evacuations, and coordinating these and other emergency procedures with fire and rescue, law enforcement, and other personnel.
Certifications and Licensing
Since it’s so important for private security personnel in commercial security situations to exhibit the highest standards of professionalism, Ranger Guard and Investigations makes sure all officers given these assignments are properly certified and licensed. In addition to this, we also use a variety of screening techniques to make sure we hire only the best applicants for these positions. To begin with, we thoroughly check all applicant’s personal and professional references to ensure accuracy. Once this is done, we also have all applicants complete various aptitude tests, which demonstrate their ability to use good judgement in handling various types of situations. Finally, all applicants are required to pass strict drug testing, which gives clients peace of mind, knowing they have only the best possible officers on duty at their facilities.
